This site publishes research. It does not run accounts, a forum or a mailing list, so there is very little personal data here to describe.
What is collected
- Contact form submissions — the name, email address and message you send, plus any file you attach. Used to reply to you, kept while the exchange is open and deleted afterwards, in any case within 24 months.
- Security records — failed login attempts and associated IP data, recorded by our security plugin and rotated out after a short period.
- Server logs — standard access records held briefly by our hosting provider.
- Aggregate page statistics, where enabled — which studies are read, never tied to an individual.
There are no reader accounts, no comments and no newsletter, so no list of readers exists.
Data you send us
If you send tick data, fill logs or statements to challenge a figure, please remove account numbers and personal identifiers first. Material used in a published correction is described in aggregate and credited only if you ask for credit.
Cookies
Functional and caching cookies keep the site working and fast. Following an affiliate link to a broker or data vendor may cause that company to set a tracking cookie under its own policy. Blocking or clearing cookies breaks nothing here.
Legal basis and sharing
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on your consent for messages you choose to send and on legitimate interest in running a secure site. Data is processed only by the providers that operate the site — hosting, email, and the security, forms and caching plugins installed here. Nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing.
Your rights
You may request a copy of what we hold, have it corrected or erased, object to processing, and complain to your data protection authority. Deletion requests are honoured in full — write via the contact page.
Transfers, retention and security
Our host and service providers may sit outside your country and apply appropriate safeguards to transfers. Retention periods are above. The site runs over HTTPS with hardened administrative access; no system is perfectly secure.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the review date at the top changes with it.
